Gombe State on Thursday offered automatic employment to 13
NYSC members of the 2012 batch ‘C’ who distinguished themselves in the service
year.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the appointment
included the 12 state merit awardees and the parade commander of the passing
out parade ceremony.
The governor also announced N20,000 transport fares to each of
the 720 youths, N500,000 to the overall best awardee and N1 million to the
soldiers that conducted the passing out parade ceremony.
Dankwambo announced this during the passing out parade
ceremony in Gombe.
The governor urged the youth to take advantage of the
numerous federal and state government policies and programmes aimed at
assisting them to be self-reliant.
“I enjoin you to put the skills acquired during the service year
into good use for the benefit of the entire society.''
He commended them for executing personal and community
development projects that impacted positively on the lives and socio-economic
development of the state.
“You have indeed endeared yourselves to the entire people of
Gombe State by uplifting their living standard through the primary assignment
and community development services you rendered at individual and group levels.
“I
wish to reiterate that government will continue to recognise and reward corps
members whenever they excel in their duties and make positive contributions to
the development of the state,” he said
