Chief Segun Oni |
Former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has reacted to the death of the first Civilian Governor of Plateau State, Chief Solomon Daushep Lar, describing it as; "the fall of another iroko tree in the forest of Nigeria politics."
Oni said in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti by his Media Aide, Lere Olayinka that; "at 80, one can only pray for the repose of Baba Solomon Lar's soul because he no doubt came, saw and conquered."
Oni said; "I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to the Lar family, Governor Jonah Jang, the people of Plateau State, and all other lovers of Baba Solomon Lar on his demise.
"We should all take solace in the fact that he left a mark that will forever be indelible as a noble statesman, a lover of peace, a firm believer in the Nigerian project and an astute political figure.
"His roles in the formation of the G-34 group that provided the foundation on which our great party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was built will remain evergreen in my mind, and he will no doubt be missed sorely by the party."
