Hip TV to launch 24 Hour DSTV channel on October 18

Hip TV's 24-hourDSTVchannel will launch on Friday, October 18, the company has announced.
A live event to mark the news and lifestyle channel will hold at Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos this October, according to a statement by the channel.

According to producers, the channel will offer rich content on news, events, documentaries, rotations, red carpet events, features, interviews and many more. Already confirmed TV shows include 'Music Everywhere', 'Streetz' and 'Exclusive Interview'.

'The channel will do Nigeria proud, and make us all proud to be Nigerians', Executive producer and founder Ayo Animashaun says.
Hip TV, launched in 2007, is the broadcast arm ofSmooth Promotions, parent company ofHip Hop World Magazineand awards show,The Headiesas well asStreet Hop,Veterans' Nite.

In June 2011, HIP TV for the first time rolled out its own 24 hour channel on cable platform HiTV, four months b efore the cable TV folded up.
HIP TV will broadcast on Channel 324 onDSTVand onGOTVto millions of viewers in over 40 African countries.
