Adeyeye berates Fayemi's wife over blockage of Ado-Ekiti major road

The Campaign Organisation of Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM) has described as wicked and uncivilised, today's blockade for several hours of the popular Adebayo Road, Ado-Ekiti by wife of the State Governor, Mrs Bisi Fayemi.

PAAM said in a release issued by its Director General, Hon Bisi Kolawole that it was the height of power arrogance for a governor's wife to put canopies on a Trunk A road, all in the name of meeting market women.

"Today, the wife of Ekiti State governor, Mrs Bisi Fayemi further demonstrated her power drunkenness and insensitivity to the plight of road users by putting canopies on the Adebayo area of the Ado-Iworoko road, thereby blocking the road to traffic for several hours and putting motorists into hardship.

"Instead of being used by motorists for which the road was meant, the Trunk A road became avenue for singing, drumming and dancing, thereby making it difficult for road-users to access the road due to traffic gridlock.

"The scenario witnessed in Ado-Ekiti today can be likened to a situation where the wife of Lagos State governor puts canopies on Ikorodu road, her Oyo State counterpart putting canopies on Lagos-Ibadan Express Way or the wife of Kogi State governor blocking Lokoja-Abaji road, all in the name of meeting market women.

"This to us is reckless, irresponsible, animalistic, and condemnable.

"Most importantly, there is a public school situated less than 100 metres to the spot where the canopies were erected, and the school has a playground that can be used for a gathering of over 5,000 people.

"But because our almighty governor's wife does not care about the welfare of Ekiti people, she opted to blocking a major federal government road, all in her bid to showcase her distribution of pittance to some market women in the name of empowerment," Kolawole said.

While also admonishing the State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi for allowing his wife to take over functions of the State and Local governments, Kolawole said; "It is a pity that it is Fayemi's wife that is presenting Buses bought with local governments fund to market women and we wonder whether the governors wife is now in charge of local councils in Ekiti State."
