POLICE CLINIC PERFORM FIRST CAESAREAN SESSION TO SAVE LIVES

History was made recently when the first caesarean session was carried out on Mrs. Adeola Olatunji at the Police Clinic, Osogbo in Osun State.

Following the strike action at Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital (LAUTH), Osogbo the pregnant woman could not receive medical care but was in labour for two days in a Private Emergency Maternity Home. 

When her situation was getting out of hand she was immediately rushed to the Police Clinic by a Good Samaritan for medical intervention.

In fulfillment of Police core duty of protecting lives and property, an emergency caesarean session was carried out to save the life of a mother and child. Mrs. Olatunji expressed joy by thanking the Inspector-General of Police, IGP MD Abubakar CFR, NPM, mni who provided the enablement, a people friendly policemen  for enhance better service delivery and his transformation agenda. 

She counted herself fortunate to have benefitted from the welfare and care meant for the Police personnel which was extended to the less privilege.


The happy mother of the new born bouncing baby girl has this to say to our correspondent; “for all their effort in this successful operation, saving her life and that of her baby, the Police did not collect a dime from her and all her upkeep”. 

She therefore implored all police officers to key into the positive change that of development that is ongoing in the Nigeria Police Force and emulate the same humanitarian stance of the medical department.

She promised that she will propagate to the public that truly “Police is our friend”. She also appreciates the Medical team, ASP Ebimare Adagbasa and his staff for caring and saving her.

The Commissioner of Police Osun state, CP Dorothy Gimba who was visibly elated when she visited the clinic with her management team presented gift items to welcome the new born baby. 

She prayed for the baby and her mother that God should provide for the family all the good things of life as she expressed hope that the baby will impact positively in her generation because she is a child of history.
